what are the printing processes

Before printing:

  • The deal made with Synthesi and our printing specialists is simple and clear. We explain to you everything you need to know about your product so that you will feel satisfied and safe.
  • We never initiate any printing task before giving you a concrete and detailed offer including all the technical specifications of your product.
  • We recommend cost-effective ways to optimize your product, so that you get the best possible result.
  • We can send you a sample of our finished products for you to choose from.
  • We never embark on the implementation of any project unless the person interested has approved it (in print or through e-mail), so as to achieve the highest possible quality standards.
  • The desired delivery time as well as the delivery details are duly established.
  • We can send you the proof sheets of your project (in print or in digital form), before the production process starts.

While printing:

  • We always produce more prints than agreed, thus guaranteeing the final quantity of the product. The quality control performed reassures the quantity ordered.
  • In case there is a proof sheet of the project, this accompanies the whole printing process, leading to a full coverage of the product requirements.
  • Your product goes through the necessary quality and quantity control, and it is carefully packed in special containers (cartons) to ensure its safe delivery and proper storage.
  • In case the production control fails to certify the quality of the finished product, the production process is repeated without any additional cost for the client.

After printing

  • The dispatch and delivery data are checked properly and then a special shipping label is placed on your package.
  • All the accompanying documents and the invoices are packed together and delivered to you safely.
  • You are notified by e-mail or phone for the dispatch of your product.
  • We guarantee the result and give you a return guarantee in case the technical specifications have not been fully met.
  • Your first cooperation with us will convince you for the further continuation of our business relationship.

file control

Please refer to the list below for the final control of your files before you send them to the production team:

  • The final printing file is on high resolution PDF format. This, of course, does not mean that this is the only printable format available. In every case, you will receive an automated message concerning the approval and acceptance of your printable files.
  • You should leave a bleed area of at least 3mm in case the background bleeds (it spills over the border of the page). In that case, the final printable file should have the bleed area signs (cut signs in the final paper size).
  • Your text should start and end at least 5mm off the border of the printable space of the page, for greater safety and better appearance of your project.
  • The printable files to be printed should be in a normal printing size (100% of the final printing format of your choice).
  • Your multipage printable files should be formatted in separate pages and not in 2-page spreads. This arrangement does not apply in the covers of your multipage projects, which should be formatted in page-spreads when there is also a back cover and/or a spine.
  • All fonts should be embedded in the final printable PDF file. If you have followed our instructions and your printable file is in PostScript format, all the fonts of your project should be embedded. In case you haven't sent us your file in PDF format but in EPS, Al or CorelDraw, then all your texts should be transformed through the "convert to curves" or "convert to outlines" process.
  • You should ensure that all the embedded images are high resolution, at 300 dpi, in the size you normally use. If you have downloaded and used images from the Internet, make sure that their size is "big" enough and that they meet all the aforementioned requirements.
  • If your printing project is in colour, then all the colours used should belong to the CMYK or Pantone gamuts. Applications with colourful images in RGB colours can be printed through a simulation process, but this conversion should better be avoided. In case you send your files via courier or by post, you are kindly requested to also include a simple print-out (in colour or black-and-white).
  • The raster files you use (Photoshop EPS, TIF, JPG, etc.) should have a 300 dpi resolution when embedded in your project.
  • The CD or DVD containing your files should also contain the fonts used in your document, your images and all the links of the printable project.

Do not forget:

  • Any files you might forget to send or to embed in your project could result in the delayed completion of your project.
  • Any printing projects demanding 100% colour fidelity should be accompanied by proof sheets. This is a task we could perform for you, provided that you let us know so that we can send you a series of proof sheets for the whole project or just for a part of it before the production starts.
  • The success of the printing outcome is ensured through PDF files since they allow you to check the final product on your computer, before you upload or print it.
